Fair questions
Do you take a percentage of sales?
On materials and services, no. We don't process those payments, hold funds, or touch the transaction: you and your buyer settle directly, typically cash or Venmo at pickup. The Tool and Parts exchanges are different because they have to be. Those orders ship across the country to somebody you will never meet, so BuildTrader collects the payment and holds it until tracking shows delivery, and that costs 10% of the order total plus 50¢ when an item sells. That fee is everything, with no listing fees and no separate card-processing charge on top.
What happens if I cancel?
Your storefront and listings beyond the free limit are hidden, never deleted. Resubscribe any month and everything comes back exactly as you left it.
Do buyers pay anything?
Never. Browsing, messaging, saving, and offers are all free, with no account gymnastics.
I'm not a company. Can I still offer services?
Yes. The Services membership is the same price whether you're a construction company or one person with a truck and a Saturday. You pick what to call yourself.
